Something finally broke.

Jack is our little sports fanatic and loves all things golf, baseball, basketball and soccer.  He latest obsession is baseball.  The first thing he does when he wakes up is dons his baseball mitt and comes into our room.  He is hitting balls off of the tee and even from live pitch with amazing consistency.  He loves to play catch and will play anyplace and anytime.  If no one is able to catch with him, he will hurl the ball down the foyer hallway and run after it only to throw it back the other way.
This morning he and Allison were playing catch and had created a new game incorporating changing levels as they threw off the steps and towards the front door. If the ball was caught, they moved up a step.  I was making breakfast when I heard a bang that could only mean something bad.  Allison was the first to say that the ball  bounced off the wall but after further inspection we discovered that one of the plantation shutters was knocked loose. Customary to when anything breaks, we called for Daddy.
As Daddy poked his head around the upstairs landing, Jack proudly pointed to where the ball he had thrown had landed and said, "Look Daddy, I broke the wall, and this!"  Good thing he is two and he is proud for the damage he has caused instead of sweeping it under the rug...but those days will come I am sure as long as we are throwing balls in the house!
